The California Baseball Umpire Association — Coachella Valley chapter — is the governing body for certified baseball officials across the desert region. We train, certify, and assign umpires for youth leagues, high school, and amateur adult baseball throughout the Coachella Valley.

Basic Requirements

We welcome anyone with a passion for baseball and a commitment to fairness. Here's what you'll need to get started:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Basic knowledge and love of baseball
  • Ability to pass a background check
  • Willingness to attend required rules clinic
  • Reliable transportation to game sites in the Valley
  • Good physical condition for game-day demands
  • Commitment to professionalism on and off the field
  • Purchase of required umpire equipment (gear list provided)
